Brand New Channel!

I already made a short, descriptive video about this new collaboration I am going to be a part of. Words cannot describe how excited I am to take on this new project. I was asked by the awesome YouTuber DearBemo if I would be interested in contributing some tips for an upcoming video she had in mind. And after conversing with the other four contributors, the idea to create an entirely new channel erupted. I've never participated in a collab before, so I don't know what to fully expect. But I do know for a fact that this collab channel will be a success. Mind you, I am not trying to exaggerate anything I say, but these young ladies make tasks easy to accomplish. And you might ask why? Well, we all have school labeled as an important aspect of our lives. There's tons of reasons out there that allow individuals to despise collab channels. Not to mention that most of them are disorganized. Being organized as we are, we know how to put our priorities first. For the most part, I wanted to create this blog post because I truly feel that I'm more capable of doing just videos. I feel rather useful! But here's the main point. People might infer that I was a wee bit "too excited" in my video pertaining to this matter. It's all because I am interacting with people my age. Not that I don't mind my younger viewers, but I feel a sense of freedom and a new beginning. When I first created DearFeatheredOwl, I wanted to somehow make my focus on my journey entering college and reflecting on high school. But as time flew by, things did not turn out as I expected it to. Along with it, I was bombarded with so much hatred and criticism for reasons that are beyond me! So yes, I feel as this collab would be my outlet from all of the negativity I get from my channel. It seems to be that way every time the back to school season comes around. Anywho, enough about that. Once again, I hope you guys could check us out and you could subscribe if you'd like.

I could remember it like it was yesterday......

A past event I would like to put into the spotlight is a day I will cherish! I didn't manage to get enough footage, but I FINALLY met up with Aubrey Jay (YouCanDoIt2010). She is spectacular and I was relieved when I got to hang out with her. I say that because we were actually planning various dates, but it sort of fell apart. Sometimes our schedules/plans conflicted with each others. And that is what nearly happened. My family was planning a remembrance ceremony and the day she wanted to meet up, I had to sadly decline. But then, with a hint of luck, the ceremony was rescheduled for a later date so that my peeps had enough time to make it in town. But yes! It was so last minute and I enjoyed every moment. I have to admit, I'm not an outgoing person. So I like to tell people I am "fun-challenged!" Although, I might of seemed awkward and anti-social, it was great to interact with someone I've had a virtual connection with. We headed to one of my city's higher end malls. Not to mention, people here have to go to stores to enjoy themselves! There is no appealing entertainment in site. After a while, you get jaded from the same old repetitive adventures. But once you go with a different person, it's seems like an entirely new experience. Moving along, we first walked into JC Penny as we jumped off a conversation. After that, heck I don't even remember! I believe we went into Forever 21, Charlotte Russe, Claires, Xpress, Bath and Body Works, Hot Topic and TARGET! Yes, our mall had a Target attached to it and we seen this as a great vlogging opportunity. Both of us had one thing in mind---SCHOOL SUPPLIES! Oh yes, we power walked our hiney's to the back to school section. But this isn't a lost cause. I know Aubrey has some footage. She'll upload it on her own terms. It was hilarious and sort of difficult to record. As Aubrey searched for good deals on school supplies, I only managed to get a pack of Sharpie Highlighters.

Lunch time followed directly after. Oh boy was I craving some sort of natural fruit drink. As we went to the food court, we each chosen where we wanted to order from. Across from Chick-fil-a was a little section that was called "Fuji Teahouse" and I knew EXACTLY what I wanted. Let me reassure you, my fascination with the Asian culture grew stronger. Mmmmmm, I just cannot resist boba tea with tapioca! I ordered a honey dew milk tea with extra boba and coconut chunks. They also had sushi and some appetizers, but they incorporated meat and seafood (not good for a vegetarian). I could infer that this eatery did not make as much business as the other neighboring stations, so I was bought over by a humble smile and their hospitality! I asked if they served fresh spring rolls and they did. They told me it was not a problem to specially make them for me according to my preferences. My main meal was a black bean patty foot long sub from Subway. Here's where the funny part approaches. Aubrey was sitting and waiting patiently until I gotten my food, then without realizing what end of the straw I was using, I put the un-sharpened tip to the boba drink I had. Since I forcefully put pressure on it because it seemed like it wouldn't slip through, it sort of EXPLODED! Hahahhaa! I couldn't help, but to laugh. I tell you, I am clumsy sometimes. It was a mess! I had to clean it up with a lot of paper napkins. Anyways, I tried to overlook that little mishap ;-) Aubrey was a great sport and tried a spring roll for the first time. But I don't plain her for disliking it. With the peanut sauce, it is decadent!

After lunch, we wondered around and left the mall. Aubrey took me to another mall and we had so much talks there! :D We went to Dylan's Candy Bar and oh my! I'm glad I really don't have a sweet tooth because I would have tons of cavities. But I loved the scenery and the atmosphere. I had in the past tasted their Belgium chocolate and they were divine! After that, we probably went to Borders. It was heartbreaking to know that they liquidated their whole chain of stores because they're closing down all of their businesses. Borders had these banners stating that their items were ten to thirty percent off---a deal you cannot overlook! Sigh, I used to use Borders as my hot spot. Booo, I don't have a Barnes and Nobles that is close to me >:-/

Anywho, we went to Claires and I was so hesitant to buying this tribal/Aztec patterned boho bag. But thinking it over, it looked unique and I decided to give it a go (despite it being overpriced). Haha, we seen some guy playing Xbox Kinect and his dance moves were drawing a crowd.

Sigh, all good things have to come to an end. If I were to tell you how much I was sweating, you guys might think I'm exaggerating. But nonetheless, I had a marvelous time with her and I appreciate her friendship so much. She is so AWESOME! :)

New tweaks and features will be in effect soon!

I've been slacking off my duties as far as my channel goes, but I decided I wanted to revamp all of my personal sites. The tumblr I created for my channel went to waste, so I thought things over and it would be best for me to maintain my blogspot more often. I have so many keen features that would better suit you! I will actually spend time posting my master calendar that you could see visually. That way, you could see more or less what videos to expect on certain dates. Thinking of you guys first, it seemed that it would be more convenient. Also, I'm currently working on a project that is very EXCITING to me and I will fill you guys in with more details once the time approaches.

Wow, you guys! I seriously do not know where all of these subscribers are coming from. It's bittersweet to say the most. I appreciate all of my LOYAL subbies and viewers! I will try to do something sweet for you guys within the next two months. Moving along, I need to get back on track! I have more videos to accomplish than I could manage. But no excuses, I shall be doing a group of videos and just upload them on different days. Thank you to all who have stuck around. I love you guys! I will update this soon whenever I post a new video.

Take care,

The rebirth of DearFeatheredOwl

I recently posted a short info video titled: "New Year, New Approach, New System". I've taken a great deal of time off from YouTube and it's not fair for my subscribers to be left hanging. Well, I finally got a brand new tripod and I am hoping to film at least 3-5 videos tomorrow (2-24-11). I'm so excited, hence the immense hate I've been getting for no apparent reason. It's okay though, I have something up my sleeve to address that issue. To be completely honest, it has taken the fun out of YouTube for me. I don't enjoy my channel like I once did before. But I miss you guys enough, so I am eager to post some new and actual videos. I will catch up with you guys later.

Take care,
DearFeatheredOwl

Cyberbullies on YouTube

Dear YouTube subbies,

I want to take the time out to write you all a letter of apology. It is apparent that I haven't been creating videos or keeping my promises. I am truly sorry for the mere fact that most of you all support my channel and encourage me to keep making videos. Truth of the matter is that I let personal matters and schoolwork get in my way from having fun. I would stress out and just push away my daily interests such as YouTube. I never revealed my situation to anyone because I try to portray that I am strong and I despise being pitied. In the past---at age 8 up until the last semester of my sophomore year in high school, I suffered from depression. To many of you, it may solve your speculations or give you a better understanding of any thoughts you had about me. I don't want to go into details about why I suffered depression, but the majority of it was related to not being accepted for who I was since elementary, all the way through my first two years in high school. I'm proud to say that I no longer have low self-esteem and have gain self-confidence, along with wisdom. If I never tried hard enough to refrain adjusting who I was-just to be accepted, I'd hit rock bottom long time ago. Just thinking about me taking the bad road startles me. But since I met my two best friends, I gave up my old habits and changed for the better. I began to have a different perspective in life and embrace positivity because it has saved my life! The reason I mention this snippet of my personal experience is that it irritates me more than anything when I log into YouTube and some random person leaves me video comments that deal with any of the following:
1) Weight---Ex: You're Fat!/Fatty!/Hippo!/etc.....
2) Personal Appearance---Ex: You're so UGLY!/Only pretty people should be making vids!/etc
3) Voice---Ex: You sound like a man!/You sound have a deep voice so you must be fat!
4) Videos---Ex: You shouldn't be making videos/This is so boring/etc....

It's a shame that I'm constantly being bashed on who I am. And no, that is not the reason I've been inactive on YouTube, but this aspect surely takes the fun out of it for me. I have a very low tolerance when dealing with ignorant, pessimist, and discriminative individuals who seem themselves better than anyone. I have done nothing to anyone that would stir up drama. I hate the fact that these individuals look at what's not relevant in my videos. The sad part is, I have a strong demeanor and most people who think "fat" people let themselves go and cry themselves to sleep is entirely DELUSIONAL! I have no remorse whatsoever when I defend myself. And no, some people say it is mature to not even respond because I'll stoop to their level. But no, I have no intention of just letting some cyberbully go loose. I like them to realize that in the real world, you have to learn to respect people. Most of these bullies are either seeking attention or judging me based on how I look, rather than who I am. To be quite frank, I am FED UP! Especially after a long stressful day of work and school, I'm excited to communicate with my subbies and I see these distasteful and negative comments--like who wants to read all of that???o.O But really, it has no effect on me, but it just makes me realize how this world will never accomplish the concept of peace or see each other as prosperous human beings. I don't know why some of these people are so hesitant to write these comments. I guess they just want to be Captain Obvious. Anybody on the street can see that I'm overweight. My question is: why does it matter if I'm thin or not? My the content of my videos don't relate to my weight or size, so why constantly disrespect me? There's tons of people who dislike me for that reason and I won't apologize because it has no correlation to my videos. And to those who have no identity and want to comment/criticize me, you have no authority whatsoever to stating your redundant comments.

Seriously guys, I have so much to catch up on. To my faithful subscribers, I TRULY APPRECIATE you all because you guys give me the reason to not give up. I want to let you all know that I am a regular person---just like you and me! :) I could care less of how many subscribers I have--this is no contest! I am freaked out though, I never thought I even reach 200 subbies. But since I took a leave from the internet, there are so many of you all that I don't know. I want to get to know you guys on a personal level if you're up for it. This is a New Year, and this means there will be drastic changes. I don't mean to be getting off topic, but I will be doing a video discussing this situation. Best of luck to you guys and Happy New Year!!!!!!! :D
